Match Notes

Alley 1 of St Peters Club proved to be a difficult venue for most players with only four players scoring 65 or more. Aled for the Flyers achieved top score with 73, helped along by a 12 spare but his slate also included two 4s. The Flyers got off to a good start going 17 up after two legs. The Cats managed to take a couple pins here and there but dropped another 9 in leg 7 when they only scored 19. Despite a 36 leg and taking 11 pins in leg 10, with their highest score of the half, the first half nevertheless went to the Flyers by 9 pins. The second half followed a similar pattern and although the Cats put in the highest score of the night with a 38 leg, again in leg 10, it was both too little and too late to affect the end result. Shock result of the night however saw Pete Smith, of the Flyers, who despite having a 1st leg 8 had only managed to score 21 by leg 5. That 3rd leg Beaver really didn't help, did it Pete!
